Hi Folks,

I realise it's been a long, long time since I last posted a blog. The
truth is I've been busy with music and with life, and whilst there's a
lot going on, I haven't felt that I've had much to report for a while.
That may sound a little bit negative, in fact it's not at all. I think
I've been making lots of musical progress this year, and really
challenging myself for the first time in many years.

I'm very fortunate, thanks to my new management, to be in a position
to experiment, try ideas, scrap ideas, and try new ideas, and that's
exactly what I've been doing. I'll be back in the studio in August,
and that will bring me a step closer to having something for you all
to hear.

On the live front, I've been so happy by the response I've had to my
new show. The band have done a fantastic job, and I've really enjoyed
myself. I feel like I'm finally finding my true self, and that is very
rewarding.

I'll be doing a couple of UK shows with the full band in the autumn,
which I'm looking forward to, and I'll be taking the trio out for one
last series of dates through September and October.

In Holland in May, I had to play a solo show which scared the hell
out of me, but it turned out to be a great experience, and following
some encouraging words from my PR agent Henni van Nieuwburg following
that show, I decided I'd like to do it again! I'll be headling the
Bayfront Festival Acoustic Stage, Duluth MN on Saturday 8th August,
which will be challenging and hopefully fun! There will be a full gig
update on my website before long, so look out for that.

Sad news today about MJ. I was a fan for a while as a kid, and during
the the European tour last October, Morg and I listened to the album
'Bad' everyday, which brought back a lot of memories and reminded us
of what a genius he was - something I did not appreciate as a twelve
year old. A troubled soul no doubt, but what a musical legacy he
leaves behind, what an enduring impact on popular culture,
incredible.
